Dracut plated 4 runs in the top of the eighth inning at LeLacheur Park on Thursday night to beat Tyngsboro, 5-1, in the Mickey Sullivan Baseball Classic, named after the former Lowell Catholic athletic director.
Sean McMeniman delivered the big hit for the Middies, driving in 2. He also started and went 6.1 strong innings, allowing 1 earned run on 8 hits and striking out 5.

Devin Lambert tossed the final 1.2 innings to get the win. He didn’t allow a hit.
Mike Patterson (2 hits) had a big 2-run hit for the Middies. Patrick O’Toole and Kyle Cox also collected hits and scored runs on the night
For Tyngsboro, Chris Aussiello, Tyler Hapenny, Phil Sutherland, Alex Carney and Connor Tompkins collected singles.

The NHIAA contest only lasted 5 innings. Bishop Guertin was led offensively by Brett Anderson (1-for-3) and Jake Mitchell (1-for-3).

Senior shortstop C.J. Zemetres drove in the lone run for Shawsheen (6-6).
DJ Williams, Cam Rich and Connor Maguire all had hits for the Rams.
Jarrad Huggins had a home run, a double and a single to lead the Lions (10-3) to a comeback win over their rival.
Michael Vecchione (double, 2 singles, 2 RBI), Chad Lizine (2 singles, 3 RBI) and Chris Rabias (2 singles, 2 runs) also paced the Chelmsford offense.
The Lions scored 8 runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh to rally for the win.
For Billerica, freshman Kyler MacDonald pitched 4 strong innings. Offensively, Ryan Murphy went 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored and a double, while Matt Tucker went 2-for-4 and scored a run.
Joe Dufour (double) and Matt Lewitzsky each had 2 RBI.
Timberlane’s Lucas Harmon (5 innings) and Cam Lovett (2 innings) combined to no-hit Alvirne despite allowing 7 walks.
Harmon had both hits off hard-luck losing pitcher Adam Scharn, who threw only 77 pitches on four days rest after tossing a 1-hitter against Trinity. Timberlane scored the lone run in the seventh.
Groton-Dunstable (6-4) senior Kasey Griffiths blasted a 2-run home run in the fourth, but a run was wiped off the board when it was ruled the lead runner didn’t touch third base.
Westboro scored both of its runs in the 6th, including the game-winner on a balk.
The Crusaders were limited to just 3 hits in the wacky loss. Jared Whitby, who started on the mound and went 6 solid innings, had a single. Riley Curran, who pitched the seventh, had the other hit.
Junior Jack Bartle went 2-for-4 at the dish with 4 RBI for A-B (5-7).
Jordan Gottesman went 4 innings on the bump and fanned 6, while allowing 2 earned runs
Westford Academy 1
The Grey Ghosts (7-4) were limited to 5 hits in the loss. Jon Berrigan had an RBI single.
Chris Zeoli, Matt Laverdure, Kyle Eliason and Ryan Durgin had the other hits for WA.
