Jared DeBruin scored on a breakaway early in the first period, assisted by Andrew Dickson and Brian Workman, and fourth-seeded Dracut/Tyngsboro defeated No. 13 Northeast Regional in a Division 3 North first round boys hockey game on Thursday at the Chelmsford Forum.
Dracut/Tyngsboro will face Watertown next in a quarterfinal on Saturday at the Forum (6:30 p.m.).
In other action, St. John’s Prep skated past Westford, 7-0, in a Division 1 North first-round contest.

Dracut/Tyngsboro 2, Northeast 0
Jake Callery tallied a goal in final minute of the first period, with assists going to DeBruin and Dickson.
Goalie Preston Wilson made 14 saves for the shutout, including a great diving save late in the game. Dracut/Tyngsboro (11-7-3) led in shots, 38-14.
Shawsheen 5, Swampscott 3
Freshman Dylan Timmons pocketed a pair of goals and the Rams defeated 11th-seeded Swampscott at Stoneham Arena.
Timmons gave ST a 1-0 lead and Brady McFadden tallied just eight seconds later to put the Rams in front by two. Shawsheen led 3-0 early.
McFadden and Sean Murphy had a goal and assist apiece. Owen Sullivan also scored for the sixth-seeded Rams (9-7-5). Nate Silva dished out 2 assists, Cam Neault made 29 saves and captain Beau Ramsey was outstanding on defense.
Shawsheen will play Lynn, time and place to be determined.
Division 1 North
Burlington 4, Newburyport 1
A strong third period lifted the Red Devils past 12th-seeded Newburyport in Woburn.
No. 5 Burlington scored three goals in the final period to snap a 1-1 tie. Burlington (14-7-2) will play Andover on Sunday (7 p.m.) at the Chelmsford Forum.
