Dracut-based artist Claire Gagnon has long loved painting the scenery surrounding her home.
She shares her affection in a new solo show aptly entitled “The Beauty of Lowell,” on view through Dec. 10 at the Greater Lowell Community Foundation, 100 Merrimack St., Suite 202, Lowell.
Notes Gagnon: “I have 28 paintings in this show — scenes of New England, some of Lowell architecture, some of creeks and rivers, paintings as small as 4-by-4 and as big as 12-by-36. It’s worth the detour.”
Indeed, it is. Gagnon and the GLCF will host a reception on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 5-7 p.m., featuring light refreshments and a chance to mix and mingle.
Gagnon is also starting a new series of drawing, acrylic and watercolor classes for adults, and drawing and watercolor classes for kids ages 10-14. They’ll run Nov. 5-Jan. 26, with no classes Thanksgiving week or Dec. 17-Jan. 6. More info on her website, www.ChezClaireArtSchool.com, or call 617-901-3873.
