Key MVC win for high-flying Dracut High; Rams rolling


Senior midfielder Matthew Robichaud scored on a penalthy kick in the 55th minute to lift Dracut past North Andover, 1-0, in a Merrimack Valley Conference boys soccer game.

Dracut junior keeper Tyler Flick made 5 saves, including a huge stop on a penalty kick just minutes before Robichaud scored, while posting the shutout.

The Middies improved their record to 6-0-2 overall and 6-0 in MVC Division 2.

Jared Rizzo chipped in with 1 goal and 2 assists. Joe Hansen, Gavin Pigott and Amaan Skaikh netted the other Rams’ goals.

Dan Archibald had 2 assists, while Matt Pustizzi and Tyler Archibald had 1 assist each. Mike Reppucci and Adam Kearns combined for the shutout in goal.

Shawsheen Tech has won four straight games, during which it has outscored its opponents by a combined score of 24-0.
