Johnson nets 3 to lead N. Middlesex over Tyngsboro; Dracut girls prevail


Myah Johnson scored 3 goals while powering North Middlesex Regional past Tyngsboro High, 6-1, in a Midland-Wachusett League girls soccer game.

Keeper Brooke Boemeester made 6 saves. Anna Gorman, Alexi Irwin and Leah Durkin had strong all-around games.

On Friday, Innovation got goals from Patrick Candor (2), Marco Savi and Sam Proctor while defeating Pope John of Everett, 4-2.

Melrose scored what proved to be the decisive goal seven minutes into the game.

Wilmington pressed for a tying goal in the second half. The Wildcats rang two shots off the post and the Melrose goalie was called on to make a couple of big saves.

Wilmington keeper Justin Healey made 5 saves.
