DRACUT — Students at Brookside Elementary School participated in a recent food drive in recognition of National Food Day.
All food collected was donated to the Dracut Food Pantry.
Each grade level competed to see which could bring in the most items. First grade was the winner, beating second grade by only three items.
The first-graders will receive an extra recess for their efforts.
During the week, Brookside students brought in 465 items. When added to the PTO’s collection, the total of items donated was 667. Many families in Dracut will benefit.
Brookside Elementary School is a proud member of the Community of Caring program.
