LOWELL — Well-known Dracut resident and Lowell teacher Jackie Carr was recently named one of the Lowell Rotary Club’s Teachers of the Year during an awards dinner at the Double Tree Hotel.
Jackie is a sixth-grade teacher at the Butler Middle School. She was nominated and elected by her peers and administration at the school.
Seventeen Lowell teachers from kindergarten through high school qualified for the Teacher of the Year award. Their families, friends and colleagues attended the dinner. Jackie was among three teachers who received the prestigious award.
She was lauded not only for her kindness and dedication toward her students, but for her work in the community, including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, St. Francis Parish, the Dracut Food Pantry and the Cor Unum Meal Center in Lawrence.
