The eighth annual Dracut Old Home Day and Firefighters Activity Day, bigger and better than ever, is set for Sept. 6.

This all-day event takes place on the grounds of the Daoulas Schools Complex, 1580 Lakeview Ave., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This year’s corporate sponsor is Washington Savings Bank.

This annual community event continues to grow in participants and attendees. Last year, it drew more than 180 booths and demonstrations, with an attendance of more than 13,000 people. Again this year, the event will expand onto Lakeview Avenue to accommodate the car show and the increase in vendors and organizations that wish to participate.

In conjunction with this year’s event, Lakeview Avenue will be closed to all vehicular traffic Sept. 6 between New Boston Road and Harold Avenue from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hurley Avenue will be used as a conduit to handle the diverted traffic. Litchfield Avenue, Turgeon Avenue and Harold Avenue will be open to serve all the business interests. However, vehicles will not be permitted to enter Lakeview Avenue.
