PELHAM — The town’s annual observance and celebration of Independence Day will be held July 3 starting at 4 p.m. on the grounds of Pelham Elementary School, 61 Marsh Road. The rain date is July 6.

The July 3 events, courtesy of the Pelham Recreation Department, include:

* Continuous demonstrations by the Fire and Police departments statrting at 4 p.m.;

* Bicycle and doll carriage parade at 4:15, with recognition given to all participants, including a “most patriotic” entry award;

* Fireworks display to commence at dark, about 9:15.

Throughout the evening there will be a “Pelham Collectibles/Penny Sale,” sponsored by Pelham Community Spirit. There will also be a bounce house for the kids available all evening.

Music will be provided by “The Edge,” Pelham Crossroads Baptist Church.

Nonprofit organizations that want to use the event to raise money or awareness must contact Joyce McDevitt at 603-635-7642. Nonprofit organizations must be registered in advance with Pelham Community Spirit, Inc., a nonprofit organization that was founded by Pelham residents to help organize and celebrate Pelham’s 250th Anniversary in 1996. The organization continues to help by organizing the annual Independence Day celebration.
