Memorial Day activities May 26

The Memorial Day Parade will he held on May 26 beginning at 10 a.m. at the American Legion Hall on Broadway.

The parade route includes services at Walnut Grove Cemetery. The Methuen VFW will hold its Memorial Day Services at Elmwood Cemetery on May 26 at noon. For information on the parade, contact the American Legion at 978-687-9724.

The Searles Building (City Hall) and Quinn Building (city offices) will be closed May 26 in observance of Memorial Day.

Water-main flush program ongoing

METHUEN — The Department of Public Works has implement a state-mandated water-main flush program. It commenced May 12 on the west side of city. The program runs Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with some nights and weekends. Discolored water may be experienced briefly. Before washing any clothing, please check your water. Running an outside hose may help clear your line. For further information, call 978-983-8855.

Rec Dept. outing to Red Sox game

The Recreation Department is sponsoring an excursion to the Red Sox-Seattle game at Fenway Park on June 6. A limited number of tickets are available at the Recreation Office, 41 Pleasant St., Room 313. Tickets are $35 per person and are being sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Cost includes roundtrip bus transportation. Buses leave the Pelham Street Park and Ride at 5:15 p.m. on June 6. Due to the expected high demand, a maximum of four tickets per person.
