LOWELL — Lowell General Hospital recently recognized Marygale Sullivan and Maria Vlahos, both of Dracut, with its monthly “Star Performer” award, which goes to employees who exemplify the vision, standards and culture of the hospital.

Sullivan, who was honored for the month of February, is a float nurse and has worked in several different nursing units during her two years at LGH.

She was recognized for her flexible attitude, energy, compassion and for taking extra Advanced Cardiac Life Support classes.

“Marygale is always going above and beyond to take responsibility for her job performance,” said Sally Vail, director of Inpatient Services. “She approaches patient care with a great deal of energy and compassion, and loves teaching the patients.”

Vlahos was the LGH “Star Performer” for March. An employee of the Food and Nutrition Department for more 35 years, Vlahos now serves as Lead Cafeteria Aide. She was honored because of her dependability, teamwork and her volunteer work with the Safety Committee.

“We are so lucky to have such a long-term employee with experience and dedication,” said Glenn Morash, director of Food and Nutrition. “She has the ‘can-do’ attitude that reflects on the great service she gives to our staff, patients and visitors.”
