The Pelham Strawberry Festival, which was held on June 23, was a huge success.

You could not have asked for better weather. We thank Crossroads Baptist Church for being kind enough to set up the tents again this year for the seniors. It was a great day for families to spend a fun-filled day together.

The children enjoyed spending time in the Castle Bounce Room, playing games to win stuffed animals and being entertained by Joli the Clown. All children had a chance to win a free Chunky’s basket.

The homemade strawberry jam sale was a big favorite and quickly sold out. People danced, while others enjoyed just sitting and listening to the music provided by the Canobie Lake Ramblers.

Great bargains could be found in the Penny Pincher Barn at the buy one/get one free sale, or in the Senior Center for a wide variety of hardcover and paperbacks on display.

Thank you to the many volunteers, young and old, who were gracious enough to assist us wherever they were needed. We could not have done it without their help.

We are thankful to the Council on Aging committee members for their donations to the raffle baskets, and for their hard work, dedication and the commitment it takes to plan such an event.

We thank the following businesses who donated gift certificates for the raffle baskets: Hannaford supermarket, Dunkin’ Donuts; McDonald’s restaurant, Alicia’s diner and Mr. K’s Carwash.

In addition, we would like to thank Grand Rental Station, Chunky’s Cinema and Cara’s Hallmark for their contributions.

At the Medical Reserve Corps booth, 40 individuals signed up for the Vial of Life Program and four people signed up for the Special-Needs Population Project.
