The Dracut C Blue team remain tied atop the league standings thanks to a hard-fought win over Methuen.
Dracut C Blue 7
Zack Bassett scored from 5 yards out and Ryan Niven rushed the conversion for the winning margin as Dracut (6-1) won a huge game in Methuen to remain tied for first place heading into the last week of the season.
Bassett (7 tackles, interception and fumble recovery) and Brian Bond (6 tackles, forced fumble) led Dracut on both sides of the ball. Bond made a leaping 17-yard catch and a 15-yard run on back to back plays to help Dracut ice the game. Ryan Schwartz and Kenny Gendreau also ran hard for Dracut. Brian Boumil (7 tackles), Bobby Savarese, Dave Sergi, and Kyle Santos led the Dracut defense, which made two fourth-quarter defensive stands deep in their own end to hold off Methuen. Josh Wiitala, Jack Freeman and Alex Larmand also made big plays for Dracut.
East Lynn 7
Dracut MM White 0
The swarming MMW defense led by Dylan Sager, Chad Matte, Joey Goudey, Layne Tourville and Cole Enos produced plenty of fumbles and headaches for the Lynn offense. Recovering fumbles were Jacob Golden, Joey Sanchez, Patrick George, Jacob Arbuckle and Kyle Humphrey. Playing outstanding on special teams were Michael Alberty, Jeremy Stec and Christopher Bakas.
Dracut MM Blue 6
Dracut received a monster defensive game from Brandon Wagner, who had more than 20 tackles and a fumble recovery. The offense was led by Brian Pacheco with a touchdown run and Matthew Montbleau with a big run behind some key blocks by David Connolly, Daniel Desrosiers, James Lebrasseur and Adam Martin.
Dracut B Blue 0
Dracut defensive highlights included a forced fumble caused by Kevin Montbleau recovered by Jacey Hebert. Other defensive standouts were Johnathan Mendonca, Cody Kuenzler and Steven Caron.
Offensive standouts were Bradley Bettencourt, William Desrosiers, Michael Lamontagne, Nicholas Murphy, Riley Serg and Branden Columbus.
East Lynn Maitland 32
Dracut D White 0
The D White Middies suffered their first loss of the season as they ran into a powerful East Lynn team. The Middies were able to move the ball on the ground for first downs with blocking from Zack Grant, Jarrod Sawyer, Danny Powers, Jackson Lizotte, John Leahy. Bobby Lundberg, Mason Brouilette and Colby Wilkins. Playing well on defense was Justin Floranza, Cameron Crowther, Slade Sousa, and Cameron Chausse (fumble recovery).
