Casey is a 31/2 year-old large black Labrador who came to us after being impounded for neglect.

Pet of the Week

He was chained with neither food nor water and beaten by his owners. As a result, he bears the scars of his past. His legs are crooked and he remains underweight. Casey still craves the attention of children and adults, and he is learning that he does not have to cower when in the presence of his caretakers.

Casey is much too playful and exuberant to live with felines and very small dogs, and would be best placed with the companionship of a dog closer to his size. He enjoys car rides, chasing balls and Frisbees, and would do best with a family that spends significant time at home with children mature enough to understand what he has been through.

He will need to remain on highly nutritious, quality dog food and joint supplements for life to help prevent arthritis.

Casey is neutered, micro-chipped, and current on his vaccines. He is on a heartworm preventative, and comes with a lifetime of free training. He is currently living with a foster family in the southern New Hampshire.
