THE VALLEY DISPATCH, PELHAM — Pelham Boy Scout troops 25 and 610, Cub Scout packs 25 and 610, and Girl Scout Cadette/Senior Troop 158 are teaming up for the seventh year in a row to accept donations and stock the Pelham Food Pantry.

The group will be maintaining a vigil at the collection site, in front of St. Patrick School on Main Street, from 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, until noon Sunday, Nov. 13. This event will take place regardless of the weather.

For 43 hours this group, along with their adult leaders, will be stocking the Food Pantry, and accepting donations of nonperishable food items, health and beauty aids, paper products, and cleaning supplies to assist those in need. Cash donations will also be accepted, and needed items purchased.

As in previous years, these groups of Scouts are challenging residents to assist them in filling 100 shopping carts with donations. There will be a tally board on site to show their progress. They have come close in years past, and hope this year will be the one in which they accomplish their goal.

Please stop by and visit them, while dropping off your donation and showing your support. And don’t forget to spread the word. The more people who know, the better for their cause.
