There aren't any big hitters this week on the concert scene, but there's still plenty of quality music to catch, especially for low prices.
It's a busy weekend in Lowell -- at the Back Page, Delta Generators play Friday night and A Ton of Blues play Saturday. Around the corner, Dan Webster will be at the Blue Taleh Friday, with Ferdinando Argenti playing on Saturday. Also on Friday night, Vic Paul will be getting your feet moving at The Sac Club and the Stanley Swann Jazz Trio will accompany your favorite cocktail at 50 Warren Restaurant and Lounge.
There's also a full slate at Bull Run Restaurant in Shirley. Garnet Rogers ($18) and Heather Maloney ($12) are playing Friday, while Eric Lilljequist and Dean Adrien ($18) are playing on Saturday along with Professor Louie & The Crowmatix ($18). In New Hampshire, Brother Sun will be at Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry on Friday ($25), and on Saturday, Bret Michaels will be at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom ($36) while Los Lobos performs at the Stockbridge Theatre in Derry ($25).
In Boston, Jack White will be at Agganis Arena on Friday ($39.50). House of Blues will host A$AP Rocky, Schoolboy Q, Danny Brown and the A$AP Mob on Friday ($23) and Who's Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute Band on Saturday ($20). Comedian Brian Regan will have two shows on both Friday and Saturday night at the Wilbur Theatre ($54.70). And the Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival is this weekend; "A Night of Two Pianos featuring Geri Allen and Joanne Brackeen" will take place Friday at the Berklee Performance Center ($20) and Béla Fleck and the Marcus Roberts Trio will be there Sunday ($29), along with numerous free outdoor acts all day Saturday.
At the Palladium in Worcester, Coheed and Cambria are playing with The Deer Hunter and Three on Friday ($27.50). On Saturday, Nonpoint and Taproot are playing upstairs ($20) while Morbid Angel, Dark Funeral, Grave, VadimVon, and Vital Remains play downstairs ($25).
If you're looking for a smaller show around Boston, the Paradise Rock Club will host Brother Ali on Friday ($16) and The Wallflowers on Saturday ($25). At Brighton Music Hall in Brighton, Dear Leader and Taxpayer play on Friday ($13) and Niki and the Dove, Casey Desmond, and Color Channel play Saturday ($12). At Middle East Downstairs in Cambridge, Powerman 5000, Vegas Radio, Death Rattle, Patient 0, Shatter The Sky, and Travel Amadala play on Friday ($20), Brothers Past and Auto Orbit play on Saturday ($20), and Lil' B performs on Sunday ($20).
And if you're willing to drive a little further south, Edwin McCain will be at Showcase Live in Foxboro on Friday ($30). Even further south in Providence, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic will be at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel on Friday ($25) and Journey will be at the Dunkin' Donuts Center with Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo and Loverboy on Friday ($34.50) as well.
