Junior guard Shane Aylward netted 10 points and played airtight defense in sparking the Tewksbury High boys basketball team to a commanding 50-31 victory over visiting Tyngsboro during non-league action Sunday.

The Redmen rolled out to a 26-11 halftime lead and were never threatened.

Sophomore guard Ryne Rametta added 14 points, senior forward Connor Brinklow collected 10 points, and senior forward Jack Kelly was another standout with 9 points and 8 rebounds for Tewksbury (3-15).

For Tyngsboro, Jason Kelly led the way with 10 points. Ryan Gauthier and Phil Sutherland each netted 5 points.

All 11 of Westford Academy's players scored in the non-league home victory with senior captain Adam Scaramuzzo leading the way with 18 points, 6 assists and 5 steals.

WA led from the opening tip and had strong contributions from juniors Declan Morse (9 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks) and Josh Rosenstein (10 points, 2 steals).

Scott Beattie claimed 9 points, 3 assists and 3 steals. Ben Lawrence added 3 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists.

Zach Lawrence and Mike Kennedy netted 6 points each for the Grey Ghosts.

Junior guard Aiden Deady led the Indians to the non-league road victory with 18 points, 8 steals and 5 assists.

Ryan Brouillette scored 2 goals, including an empty-net insurance tally with 28 seconds remaining, as the Indians topped arch-rival Chelmsford in an MVC/DCL Division 1 game Saturday night.

Anthony LaMarca and Matt Livingston netted 1 goal each for Billerica. Collin Cameron chipped in 2 assists. Vinny Ferraro made 24 saves for BHS (9-4-3).

For Chelmsford, Mike Connor and Christian Gastonguay potted goals.

Connor Doherty dished out an assist to become Lowell Catholic's all-time leading scorer and the Crusaders finished unbeaten in the league as the CCL Small School champions Saturday.

Colin Gleason made 18 saves on Senior Night.

Jake McDonough, Tyler Windt and Ty Soule were solid on defense. Dom Valente, David Morey, James Giblin and Alex Graves scored for the Crusaders. Valente also added 3 assists. Mike DiBacco, David Morey and Nick Pereira also had assists.
