Emily Morin scored the winning goal with 4:30 left to play as Westford Academy edged Framingham, 2-1, in an MIAA Division 1 North Sectional first round girls soccer game.
In a Division 3 Central boys game, Tyngsboro beat Millbury, 2-1, in a game that was decided by penalty kicks.
Division 1 North
Ally Giovino assisted on Morin's game-winner.
The Grey Ghosts took a 1-0 lead when Brooke Ditcham scored off an assist from Shadee Saberi with 20 minutes left to play in the game.
Mya Barber-Mingo made 8 saves in goal for Westford (11-4-1).
Isabel Doherty, Dominique Paglia, Caroline Sawrey and Mel Almasian had strong games for Westford, which advanced to the Div. 1 state championship game last November.
"We played a great game and outshot Framingham, 23-8," said Westford coach Katie Andjus. "They were a tough team and very athletic. Their D was all over our forwards, who had several chances on net. The windy conditions were tough, but we did a good job of keeping the ball on the ground as much as possible."
The third-seeded Grey Ghosts will host sixth-seeded Peabody in a quarterfinal game Monday at 6 p.m.
Central Catholic 0
Sixth-seeded Peabody blanked 11th-seeded Central Catholic is a Division 1 North first round game.
Central Catholic finishes the season with an 8-9-1 record, while Peabody improves to 10-7-1.
Division 2 North
Danvers snapped a 1-1 tie by scoring 2 goals in the final 23 minutes of play while topping Tewksbury in a Division 2 North first round game.
Haley Mignon scored Tewksbury's goal with an assist from Emily Chmela. Tewksbury keeper Julia Cafferty made 16 saves.
Tewksbury finished the season with a 9-8-2 record.
Division 4 North
Notre Dame 0
Manchester-Essex blanked the Academy of Notre Dame in a Division 4 North first round game.
Fourth-seeded Manchester-Essex improved its record to 13-3-2, while 13th-seeded Notre Dame ends the season with a 9-8-2 record.
Division 3 Central
Holy Name 2
Goals by Liz DiCecco and Erin Duncan lifted eighth-seeded Holy Name (12-5-1) past ninth-seeded Littleton in a Division 3 Central first round game.
Littleton High School ends the season with an 11-5-3 record.
Division 3 Central
The Tigers outscored Millbury, 5-4, in the penalty kick shootout with Nolan Michaud netting the decisive goal.
The score was tied, 1-1, at the end of regulation. Prior to go to penalty kicks the teams played a pair of 10 minute sudden death overtime periods.
Captain Chris Ausiello scored Tyngsboro's goal from a scrum in front of the Milllbury net with less than a minute to play in regulation.
Millbury had taken a 1-0 lead with under 10 minutes remaining.
Trey Marcantonio had a strong game in goal for the Tigers, finishing with 12 saves during the game and one more big stop during the shootout.
Josh Fairbanks (center midfielder) and Tyler Hapenny (striker) played well.
Tenth-seeded Tyngsboro (8-7-4) will play at second-seeded Hudson (15-2-2) in a quarterfinal game Monday at 4 p.m.

The Crusaders edged Algonquin in a first round game played Saturday night.
Tenth-seeded Groton-Dunstable (8-6-5) will play at second-seeded Marlboro (13-2-3) Monday at 7 p.m.
