Meg Dugas fired a 3-hitter with 6 strikeouts and didn't allow an earned run as Chelmsford edged North Andover, 3-2, in a Merrimack Valley Conference Division 2 softball game.

Jaylyn Alto had a hit, scored a run and played a strong defensive game at third base for Chelmsford (2-2).

Lexi Barboza had a hit and scored a run. Catcher Meg Zawatsky had a hit, while Lindsay Ambrosino provided a strong game at shortstop.

Courtney Latta pitched 7 fantastic innings, giving up only 3 hits while striking out 10 in Lowell's MVC win.

Brittany Mota went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Haley Drakoulakos went 2-for-4 with a run scored, while Emily Carboneau went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI for LHS.

Playing in the Hudson Tournament, the Middies nipped the hosts behind another superb pitching effort from Ryley White (5-0).

White went the distance, allowing 5 hits, striking out 9 and walking none. Nidia Saari singled and scored on a sacrifice fly from Michelle Gaudreau in the third inning to pace the Middies (5-0).

The Rams collected 16 hits to improve to 3-0 in CAC action as Becca Smith led the way with a 3-for-5 effort which saw her scored 2 runs and collect 3 RBI.

Shawsheen (3-2) also received strong days from Victoria Basler (2-for-5, 2 runs, 2 RBI), Bella Richard (2-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBI) and Brooke Arena (2-for-5, 2 runs, 2 RBI).

The Cougars received huge offensive days from Francesca Frelick and Caroline Sablone in romping to the win.

Frelick went 5-for-6 with two home runs, while Sablone went 5-for-6 with a triple and home run. Mia Gage went 6 innings to earn her first varsity win for the Cougars (4-0).

Kellie Kennedy (2-0) struck out 11, allowed 2 hits and walked none in pitching the Broncos to Wednesday's victory in Hudson.

Haley Peaslee laced 2 singles, Ashley Silva (2 RBI) singled and doubled, and Liz DeRosa (2 RBI) ripped a double. Adding singles were Nicole Teague, Alicia Salvalzo, Jamie DeAngelo and Farrah Cestrone.
