PINKHAM NOTCH, N.H. (AP) -- The Massachusetts man who won the last two Mount Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb races is hoping for a third victory.

Cameron Cogburn, of Arlington, is joining 635 cyclists peddling up the 7.6-mile course today. Some cyclists have called it more difficult than the steepest climbs in the Tour de France.

Another competitor, 51-year-old Marti Shea of Marblehead, hopes to become the first woman to win the all-uphill bike race four times.

Cyclists start the course at the foot of the Auto Road, and then finish at the 6,288-foot summit of the highest peak in the northeastern United States.
