LEXINGTON -- Former Lowell High and Lowell Post 87 pitcher Nick Godfroy has been a key addition to the Lexington Blue Sox staff.

Godfroy, a left-hander who helped pitch Post 87 to the final of the Massachusetts American Legion Intrastate Tournament last summer, is 2-2 with a save and a 2.21 ERA. He has struck out 13 while allowing only 16 hits in 19 innings pitched in the Intercity League this summer. Godfroy hopes to pitch at Framingham State University next spring.

"He has pitched very well," said Blue Sox manager/founder Rick DeAngelis. "He's a great kid. He's the type of kid you want on your baseball team. He's a lefty who throws a real nice breaking ball. He has great poise on the mound."
