Kyle Krug went 2-for-4 with a double, triple and 3 RBI to power Lowell Shedd to an exciting 10-9 victory over Lowell PYO during a Suburban Pony League 14-15 Division game Monday.
Elsewhere, the Billerica Legion team opened Chairman's Cup play with a 3-0 blanking of Hudson.

The first-place Floggers improved to 15-2 with a mercy-rule win.
Mike Whalen threw a complete-game shutout with 7 strikeouts while giving up only 3 hits. He helped his own cause with 2 hits, including a double and 3 runs scored. Jake Nelson was on fire at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a double, 2 stolen bases and 3 runs scored.
Collecting 2 hits each were Ben Marasco, Aaron Bennett and Tyler Bradanese.

Marc Beland went 2-for-2 with an RBI for the winners. Collecting a single hit each were Mike Mercuri (RBI), Bobby Meehan (RBI), Bret Edwards (2 RBI), James Smith, Sam Fardin (RBI), EJ Hession (RBI) and Frank Feltes.
Brian Hoey (51/3 innings, 3 earned runs, 6 K's) was the winning pitcher.
Right-hander Nate Doiron tossed a complete-game 4-hitter, while striking out 10 and walking 2 as Billerica opened with a win.
Billerica (7-11) will play Tuesday at Medford (5:30 p.m.).
All three runs came in the sixth as Cam Climo singled home Rob Gambale, who opened the top of the sixth with a double. Then Joe Zampbell singled home Climo and the final run was plated on a suicide squeeze bunt by Joe Jacobs.
Gambale was a vacuum at shortstop for Billerica.

Justin Villanueva pitched 4 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and striking out 2. Tommy Cannon followed for an inning, fanning 2. William Schmidt and Yandel Tineo closed out the final two innings.
Edgar Velazquez had 2 hits and 2 runs scored. Aidan Foyle and Villanueva also had 2 hits each. Brett Lepoer had a triple and an RBI, while Tommy Cannon had a double and an RBI. Thomas Hassett, Yandel Tineo and Josh Gath also had hits for Lowell (12-4).
