Lowell Post 87 loaded the bases with one out in the seventh inning, but did not score, suffering an agonizing 3-2 loss at Ashland in American Legion baseball action on Tuesday.

Lowell (11-5), still holding a playoff spot with two games remaining, also left the bases loaded in the fifth with the score 2-2.

With the score still 2-2 and a Lowell runner on first in the sixth, Lowell's Joe Parisi was robbed when Ashland's center fielder made an over-the-shoulder catch on the warning track.

Ashland (12-4) then scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth when a Lowell throw during a rundown hit the runner caught between third and home, allowing him to score.

Conor Callery went 3-for-4 for Lowell. Chris Mansour went 2-for-3. Randy DeJesus played a strong game at shortstop. Cam Latta pitched 6 innings, allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits.
