Tyler Schermerhorn went 3-for-3 to power Post 87 to a 10-5 victory over Newton during American Legion play Sunday at Stoklosa/Alumni Field in Lowell.

Elsewhere, Billerica National topped the North Andover Americans, 10-7, in District 14 play.

Cam Latta was the winning pitcher, going 6 innings, striking out 9, walking 4, and allowing 3 hits and 3 earned runs.

Schermerhorn also scored 3 runs and drove in a run. Chris Mansour (3-for-4, 2 RBI) and Conor Callery (2-for-4, RBI) also starred for Post 87 (8-4).
