Chelmsford rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the seventh inning to edge the Billerica Floggers, 4-3, in Suburban Pony League 14-15 Division action Thursday night. It was Billerica's first loss of the season (7-1).
Matt Dimitrov hit a walk-off two-run single to give Chelmsford the dramatic win. Kyle Brown (double) and Eric Wrobels (bunt single) were also instrumental in the comeback.
Josh Roberge pitched a complete-game 6-hitter, fanning 6, to get the win. Chelmsford is 6-3.
The Billerica American 11-year-olds defeated Tewksbury American, 4-3, with three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Doug Russo struck out 9 in a complete-game effort. DJ Sidell hit his second home run in as many games.
In the sixth, Russo and Sidell singled and a ground ball by Liam Curley combined with an error scored two runs. Brendan Torpey singled, then Eric Olson fell behind 0-2, fouled off five straight pitches and lined a double down the right field line to plate the winning run.
Billerica had solid defense from Luke Collins.
