BURLINGTON -- The Burlington High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee has announced it 2014 Hall of Fame inductees.
Athletes selected were Stephen Carlin (Class of 1965, football, basketball, baseball); Dennis M. Doble, (Class of 1992, football, basketball, baseball); Rick Doyle (Class of 1968, football, basketball, baseball); Karen Holland-Hagberg (Class of 1985, cross country, winter and spring track); Daniel J. Hanafin (Class of 1994, football, baseball, gymnastics, indoor track); Michelle A. LaBombard-Corr (Class of 1999, soccer, winter track, spring track, tennis); Lindsey Suffredini (Class of 2000, swimming, gymnastics, tennis); and Gary Wing (Class of 1986, swimming).
The team selected was the 1969 boys baseball team of Joe Robillard, Kevin Graham, Paul Sheehan, Ed Malatesta, Paul Ganley, Brad Schuler, Jim Murphy, Mark Watson, Jack Gulde, Chuck Reynolds, Jack Ganley, Gary Putman, Paul Donovan, Steve Howard, Bob Colantuoni, trainer Doc Duncan and manager Peter Gallinaro. This was the first BHS baseball team to win the Merrimack Valley championship under Hall of Fame coach Jim Curtin.
The Hall of Fame banquet will be held Thursday, Oct. 9, at 6 p.m. at the Café Escadrille in Burlington. Tickets are $50 and may be purchased at the BHS athletic office. Call 781-270-1867 or 781-273-7077.
