LOWELL -- The Chelmsford High boys volleyball team will look to complete an unbeaten regular season on Monday at Lawrence High School as part of the annual Merrimack Valley Conference Volleyball Night.

Chelmsford is 17-0 and can win the league outright by defeating host Lawrence (6:30). If the Lions lose, they will share the crown with the Lancers.

Chelmsford is enjoying its best season since it was 20-0 during the spring of 2009. The program has never made it past the North final in the state tournament.

"We have experience and leadership, which has really helped us this year," said Chelmsford head coach Matt Dibble. "The kids have worked really hard in practice and the undefeated season means a lot to them. We're trying to get further than any Chelmsford team has ever been before."

In the other matchups at Lawrence High on Monday, Central Catholic will face Billerica, Methuen will face Lowell and Haverhill will meet Andover. All three games are at 5 p.m.

Methuen and Lowell will play on center court, as the Rangers will clinch a spot in the state tournament with a victory.

State tournament pairings for volleyball will be announced on Tuesday.
