Dracut C 25
Dracut's Pop Warner C Football Team opened up its season with a convincing 25-13 win over Division 2 powerhouse Billerica. During the preseason, Middies Head Coach John Hall spent time working on fundamentals and breaking the game down to its simplest components while preaching focus to his attentive team. The Middies certainly carried that focus onto the field and set the tone early by scoring on their first possession. Running back Aise Pream was the workhorse for the Middies, grinding out over 100 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries.
Dracut captain Charlie Kefauver called the flip for the start of the game and after a fine kickoff by Kyle Proulx, the imposing defensive front of Tyler Middlemiss, Nathan Ripley, Jacob Beaulieu and Denis Bourassa didn't sit back and allow Billerica to get comfortable. Instead the Dracut defense was aggressive and mixed in different looks with nose tackles Ethan Holt, Gilbert Ruiz and Jacob Nadreau plugging gaps and making tackles. This quick four-and-out gave the Middies offense good field position allowing Dracut to march down the field with a nine-play drive resulting in a 1-yard touchdown run by Michael Canney.
Dracut scored again on Billerica's next possession when a blitzing Aise Pream stole the Indians' handoff and galloped 19 yards into the end zone for the Middies. Quarterback Devin Lambert's extra point attempt was good to put Dracut up 13-0. Billerica scored with less than a minute left to make the score 13-7. Dracut threatened to score again after Matthew Simpson's 40 yard reception but time ran out to end the half.
The Middies took the ball downfield to start the second half and upped their lead to 19-7 after a 4-yard plunge by Lincoln Lessard. Offensive linemen Michael Tusa, Anthony Marquez, Max Barton, Alex Reis, Javier Faria and Jared Fahey opened up huge wholes all day to help spring Lucas Ibarguen, Eric Ariosus and Yan Gonzalez for positive yardage. Cornerback Matt Rossetti came up with a big interception to get the ball back for the Middies. On third and 10, wide receiver Peter Sawyer made a huge first down catch to extend Dracut's drive as Aise Pream scored on a 23-yard scamper to increase the lead to 25-7. An Indian late TD pass made the final score 25-13 as Lincoln Lessard (10 tackles) blocked the extra point for the undefeated Middies.
Dracut C 30
The Dracut C Football Team continued its winning ways and remained undefeated by pounding Lowell 30-0. The Middies' overpowering offensive line of Anthony Marquez, Max Barton, Nathan Ripley, Jacob Beaulieu and Denis Bourassa controlled the line of scrimmage all day as 5 different players scored for Dracut and their balanced attack. Aise Pream took the opening kickoff back 75 yards and scored with some nifty running to put Dracut up 6-0. The boys got a little sloppy on defense as they picked up three offsides penalties but were able to hold Lowell to minimal yards and took over on downs at the 50-yard line. Lucas Ibarguen hit Eric Ariosus with a 30-yard pass, which set up a touchdown run by Matt Rossetti upping the Middie lead to 12-0.
The second quarter saw more offensive line domination by Dracut as it didn't seem to matter whether the Middies ran east to west or north to south as Yan Gonzalez and Matthew Simpson picked up positive yardage before Lincoln Lessard scored on a 22-yard scamper. The fine outside run put the Middies up 18-0. Devin Lambert had a quarterback sack from his linebacker position which resulted in a Lowell fumble being recovered by Yan Gonzalez before the first half ended.
Dracut's defense scored early in the third quarter to make it 24-0 as Devin Lambert's fumble recovery and high-stepping run turned into a 40-yard touchdown. Lowell fumbled its next possession away to Lucas Ibarguen, which gave the Middies excellent field position. Michael Tusa slammed the ball in from 1 yard out to put Dracut up 30-0 before the fourth quarter.
With nose tackles Ethan Holt, Gilbert Ruiz and Jacob Nadreau stopping Lowell in their tracks, Javier Faria, Kyle Proulx and Peter Sawyer tackled everything in sight. Michael Canney came up with an interception to keep the shutout going for Dracut as Tyler Middlemiss, Alex Reisand Jared Fahey rushed for gains at the end of the game before their cheering teammate Charlie Kefauver. Yan Gonzalez was named the Hammer Slammer award winner for this game after his outstanding efforts.
Despite the loss, Dracut played hard against a tough Lowell team. Making it to the end zone for Dracut's only TD was Cam McCullough. Dracut's defensive standouts were Ryan Travers, Sean Teneriello, Santiago Ruiz, Jeff Ngaruiya, Ethan Nicholson and Owen Ford, while Petka and Nemisis Lopez led the offense. Playing both sides of the ball Kyle Pelletier, William Peters and Kevin Carney all had a great game.

Dracut's third possession was marked with great blocking by wide receiver Ethan Sawyer and long runs by Kia McDonald, ending with McDonald's scamper into the end zone.
Dracut's defense kept Lowell pinned deep in their own territory for most of the first half. A big fumble recovery by Kevin O'Brien and big hits for Anthony Riveira, Braydon Bourassa, Justin Ryan and Spencer Tennerilo halted Lowell on a promising drive. Mike Marchianda and Nik Sawyer shut down Lowell's passing game with Nik Sawyer grabbing two interceptions and returning one for a touchdown.
