Michael Patterson's free throw with eight seconds left allowed the Dracut Boys Sixth Grade Travel Basketball Team to escape with a 38-37 victory over Andover Gold. Cam McCullough worked hard and brought his A game with 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Middies to their 20th win of the season. Aise Pream (6), Jaeden Hylton (4), Kevin Carney (2), William Peters (2), Colby Manzueta (1) and Jovan Aigbekaen (1) also scored. Tyler Pacheco (2), Josh Hastie (1) and Mitchell Monette (1) pulled down rebounds with Jeremy Gray making a steal as Dracut enters the Merrimack Valley League playoffs with a 20-9 record.

The Dracut Girls Seventh Grade Travel Basketball Team was overpowered by Merrimack 53-33 in a demanding physical game. The Middies hung tough in the first half and trailed by one point going into the break, but Merrimack started the second half on fire -- hitting two quick three-pointers and converted three turnovers to boost their lead into double digits. Melissa Iannuzzo (10), Julianna Fagan (5), Lilly King (5), Emily Cloutier (5), Meghan Carney (4), Lindsey Emond (3) and Jaxy Marquez (1) tallied for Dracut with Olivia Pantano grabbing a rebound. Despite the loss, the 10-9 Lady Middies clinched a spot in the upcoming Division 1 River Valley League playoffs where the girls hope to perform well.
