Michael Patterson's quick 8 points sparked the Dracut Boys 6th Grade Travel Basketball Team to a 38-27 win over Wakefield Red. The Middies' suffocating defense only allowed 6 points in the first half as they grabbed an early 10-point lead despite their atrocious 2 for 16 free-throw shooting.
Aise Pream had a strong performance as he returned to action with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 steals. Tyler Pacheco had 5 steals for the 12-4 Middies as Cam McCullough (7), Kevin Carney (6), Mitchell Monette (5), Jeremy Gray (2) and Jaeden Hylton (1) also scored points. William Peters (6) and Jovan Aigbekaen (2) and Josh Hastie pulled down rebounds.
Andover Gold 43
With their whole team finally intact, the Dracut Boys 6th Grade Travel Basketball Team avenged an earlier season loss to Andover Gold with a commanding 52-43 victory. The Middies led at the half 25-22 as William Peters (6 points, 8 rebounds) led a well-rounded Dracut offensive attack that featured 10 scorers.
Aise Pream (13), Cam McCullough (10), Mitchell Monette (9), Jeremy Gray (4), Colby Manzueta (3), Tyler Pacheco (2), Jaeden Hylton (2), Jovan Aigbekaen (2) and Michael Patterson (1) also tallied for Dracut. Kevin Carney (4 rebounds) and Josh Hastie played nicely for the 13-4 Middies.
Cam McCullough's scrappy dominance in the paint (17 points, 7 rebounds) allowed the Middies to knock off Nashua 53-40 in a highly anticipated Merrimack Valley league game. The Middies took a 30-25 lead into the break as the Nighthawks' hot outside shooting kept them in the contest.
Hard-working Jovan Aigbekaen's team-leading 9 rebounds prevented many second-chance opportunities for Nashua. Also scoring for Dracut were Aise Pream (9), Mitchell Monette (7), Kevin Carney (6), Michael Patterson (5), Colby Manzueta (4), William Peters (3) and Josh Hastie (2). Tyler Pacheco (2) and Jaeden Hylton (1) had steals with Jeremy Gray grabbing a rebound for the 14-4 Dracut Boys 6th Grade Travel Basketball Team.
