The Dracut Boys 6th Grade Travel Basketball Team lost a heard fought 49-48 decision to Lowell in an exciting contest. The Middies showed some spunk in this game as they battled back twice from 12-point deficits. The Red Raiders grabbed a 28-17 halftime lead behind some excellent outside shooting. Dracut closed the gap to 33-31 early in the third quarter behind stellar performances from Cam McCullough (14 points, 9 rebounds) and Aise Pream (8 points, 4 steals). With 5 minutes to go in this heated challenge, the Middies trailed 46-37 before their furious comeback fell just short. Michael Patterson (9), Mitchell Monette (6), Jovan Aigbekaen (6) and Jaeden Hylton (1) also scored for Dracut. Boxing out well and pulling down errant shots were Kevin Carney (5), Jeremy Gray (4), Josh Hastie (2) and William Peters (2). Colby Manzueta blocked a shot with Tyler Pacheco making two steals. The close loss drops Dracut's record to 3-2 this season.
A combination of hot outside shooting by Aise Pream (12 points) and Mitchell Monette (10 points) with the solid inside game of Colby Manzueta (10 points) and Kevin Carney's (9 rebounds) strong rebounding helped the Dracut Boys 6th Grade Travel Basketball Team rout Reading 51-34. Also scoring for the 4-2 Middies were William Peters (4), Michael Patterson (4), Jeremy Gray (3) and Josh Hastie (2). Tyler Pacheco had a steal along with Jaeden Hylton picking up a rebound.
Andover Blue 29
Jeremy Gray's outside jumper with 27 seconds left broke a 29-29 tie and helped lift the Dracut Boys 6th Grade Travel Basketball Team past Andover Blue 32-29. Aise Pream (14 points, 6 steals) and Cam McCullough (9 points, 10 rebounds) triggered the depleted Middie offense in this back and forth game. Kevin Carney (4), Colby Manzueta (2), Josh Hastie (1) and William Peters (1) collected rebounds against the
twin towers of Andover with Tyler Pacheco picking off a pass. Jovan Aigbekaen (4 points) and Michael Patterson helped improve Dracut's record to 5-2.
