HARRISON, N.J. (AP) -- Thierry Henry of the New York Red Bulls has become the first player in MLS history to capture three straight player of the week awards.

The league announced on April 9 that Henry was honored again after scoring two goals and setting up another in a 4-1 win at Columbus. The 34-year-old French star has seven goals and three assists in the Red Bulls' three-game winning streak.

Henry leads the MLS with seven goals, one more than teammate Kenny Cooper and Chris Wondolowski of the San Jose Earthquakes.

Henry's four assists this season are second behind Sporting Kansas City's Graham Zusi (5).

Henry had a team-high 14 goals last season
