DRACUT -- The children at the Campbell Elementary School have many wild animals living in their backyards but none like the ones they learned about through "Mostly Mammals," a program presented by wildlife educator Michelle DeBye.

Michelle brought out seven mammals and a corn snake for the children to meet and learn about -- the skinny pig, a guinea pig that has hair only on its toes and nose; the small tenrec from Madagascar, with quills similar to those of a hedgehog; Odora the skunk, whose "smelly gland" had been removed; a long-hair rabbit; a chinchilla; a guinea pig; and a ferret.

Michelle encouraged the children to watch informative animal shows on the television, read books about wildlife and to observe the wildlife in their own backyards.
