FITCHBURG -- Applewild Field Hockey/Lacrosse Camp for girls entering grades 4-8 will run Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., July 9-20. All equipment is provided. HAVERHILL -- The Merrimack Valley Umpires Association will hold training classes for adult men and women, as well as teenagers over the age of 16, beginning Thursday, July 12, at 6 p.m. at Northern Essex Community College. Anyone who wants to be trained as a baseball umpire in major league rules should attend these classes in Room C-120 of the Spurk Building.

LOWELL -- The UMass Lowell softball program will conduct two weeks of camps this summer, the first from June 25-27 and another July 16-19 at River View Field on the university's South Campus.

Both camps will be conducted by UMass Lowell head coach Sean Cotter. The June 25 camp, for players aged 6-10, will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., while pitchers will receive small group instruction from 12-12:45 p.m. Admission is $75 per player and $100 per pitcher.
