On April 9, Lowell Catholic hosted its 18th annual Bishop John R. McNamara Awards Gala held at Lenzi's in Dracut. The event honored four extraordinary people who, through their vision, leadership and dedication, have improved the lives of those in need. The fabulous four are Chet Szablak, Joanne Yestramski, Stephen O'Connor, the '68 St. Margaret Distinguished Graduate Award recipient, and Taylor Young, Class of 2011, Lowell Catholic Alumni Achievement Award recipient.
More than 215 guests enjoyed a cocktail reception, dinner, a speaking program and an award presentation for the honorees in the beautifully decorated grand ballroom!
The Bishop John R. McNamara Award is named in tribute to a man who devoted 40 years to community service, tirelessly working in support of Catholic education and ecumenical ideals throughout the community. The annual award was established in February 2000 and is given to individuals in recognition of their outstanding contributions and dedication to the Catholic community.
This event raised $90,000, which directly benefits the students of Lowell Catholic. For more information, visit www.lowellcatholic.org.
