On June 11, the notorious local heroes of the Chelmsford Police Athletic League were in full force when they hosted their sixth annual Golf Tournament at Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, N.H.

More than 144 golfing pals enjoyed a day of golf, cold beer, lunch and a hearty dinner buffet, an informative speaking program honoring five recipients of CPAL scholarships, and the exciting traditional $10,000 50/50 raffle helicopter golf-ball drop.

Each year, everyone's pal, CPAL, awards $2,000 scholarships to five Chelmsford High School senior graduates. Special thanks to respected and dedicated CPAL President Lt. Gary Hannagan, Sgt. Jason Poor and all of CPAL's finest for their hard work enriching the lives of children and students of all ages.

Since its inception in 2006, CPAL has experienced prosperous growth, beginning as a one-sport program with few earnings. After the establishment of the fundraising golf tournament, however, it has grown to multiple sports and activities for Chelmsford families.

CPAL, from this gal pal, thank you for protecting and keeping the town of Chelmsford and all the pals safe and sound!

This single event raised $50,000. For more information, visit www.chelmsfordpal.com.
