Meteorologist Mish Michaels, at right, and illustrator Kathie Jameson signed copies of their new children's book, "Ms G's Shadowy Road to Fame," during a free event on Saturday, Jan. 31 inside UMass Lowell's River Hawk Shop at University Crossing in Lowell. The story shares how Wellesley schoolchildren helped lobby Massachusetts lawmakers to name "Ms G" the state's first and only official groundhog. A portion of the proceeds from book sales will benefit the Mass Audubon Society, which cares for "Ms G" at the Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary in Lincoln. MEGHAN MOORE FOR UMASS LOWELL
