When I chatted with Tom Keifer a year and a half ago, the longtime voice of Philadelphia-based rock band Cinderella talked excitedly about his debut solo album The Way Life Goes.

Considering it took Keifer nearly two decades to put out the solo album, thanks to record company issues and family matters (his wife gave birth to their first child), not to mention the band's on-again/off-again status, his feelings were understandable.

"It's going to be a blast," Keifer said of touring behind the record.

But at the end of our interview, Keifer made sure to mention that the band would be back together again soon. "Those guys have been my brothers for over 25 years," Keifer said in February 2013. "Last year's tour (which actually happened in 2012) was not a farewell tour by any means."

Yet, short of three Monsters of Rock Cruise dates in March of this year, the band hasn't gotten back together and there's a good reason why. He's still touring behind last year's solo album, and will stop at Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry on Sunday night.

"We started touring last year at small clubs, and by the end of the tour, we had advanced to some larger clubs and some amphitheater dates," Keifer told me last week by phone from his house in Nashville. "This year, we're booking bigger venues and the crowds keep getting bigger. It feels really good."

Keifer is one of the nicest, most genuine people in the music business, willing to talk openly about pretty much anything.

For the record, Cinderella is not broken up or even on hiatus. "We've all

got other things going on, and this break is also giving us time to spend with our families, but we'll get back together," Keifer said, acknowledging that the break will also heighten interest in the band when it does resume touring.

He said that even though there are have been rumors that this is an acoustic show, "It is a full-blown, straight-ahead rock show." And he will play Cinderella songs. Lots of them. "We'll play songs from Cinderella that everybody knows along with some of the songs from the solo record."

Indeed, a check of a set list from Keifer's shows last month indicates that he plays Cinderella classics "Night Songs," "Somebody Save Me," "Shake Me," "Heartbreak Station," "Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)," "Nobody's Fool," "Coming Home," "Shelter Me" and "Gypsy Road" along with a half-dozen songs from the solo album.

Should be a fun night. Hope to see you there.
