LOWELL -- Under the leadership of Glenn Mello and Brian Campbell, the Friends of Lowell Community Charter Public School raised more than $25,000 at their fourth annual golf tournament, held Aug. 12 at Hickory Hill Golf Course in Methuen. The funds will be used to outfit two new kindergarten classrooms this fall.

The tournament attracted approximately 80 people. It included a day of golf, lunch, raffles and a program where LCCPS student Richmond Kwaateng and alumnus Evans Oduro spoke about their experiences at the school. Enterprise Bank was the event's Gold Sponsor. Bronze Sponsors included Mill No. 5, Carlos del Rio, M.D., Christine Lasala, GM Insurance, Lowell Sun Charities and Sage Bank.

Brush Gallery benefit set for Oct. 17

LOWELL -- The Brush Art Gallery & Studios will hold a "Celebration of the Arts" at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at the Chelmsford Center for the Arts, 1A North Road, Chelmsford. Theme party to raise money for TeamWalk

LOWELL -- A '70s theme party will be held from 7 to11 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Lo Kai restaurant, Lakeview Avenue, Dracut. The party will include a DJ, live band, light buffet and raffles. Costumes are optional. Tickets are $15 and are available at www.teamwalk.org.
