CHELMSFORD -- Karen N. Frederick, executive director of Community Teamwork Inc. (CTI) will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, at First Parish UU Church of Chelmsford about CTI's work in the community. CTI, whose mission is to provide support and promote economic self-sufficiency for families in need, is als oone of the nine regional non-profit housing agencies serving 41 cities and towns in Middlesex and Essex counties.

Frederick was invited to speak by the church's Council on Faith in Action Ministries. As part of the council's efforts to serve the community, the church will also host a benefit concert The Tervo Trio and Friends for CTI on June 7.

Pepperell Garden Club to hold plant sale

PEPPERELL -- The Pepperell Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 8, rain or shine, at the Pepperell Senior Center, 37 Nashua Road, Route 111. The sale is known for its members' hardy dug plants, annuals, locally grown veggies and herbs, shrubs, ground covers and more. Club members will be on hand to offer advice on garden design questions, plant choices, combinations and solutions to beautify landscapes.

The plant sale is the sole fundraising event for the Pepperell Garden Club. Funds are used for the club's beautification projects throughout town and scholarships for local students. The club meets at the Pepperell Senior Center at 6:45 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month. New members are welcomed throughout the year. The club is a member of the Garden Federation of Massachusetts, Inc.

Autism scholarship benefit planned

BILLERICA -- The Dutile Tremblay Community Fund will hold its fifth annual fundraiser to support scholarships for kids on the autism spectrum will be held Saturday, May 17, rain or shine at the Billerica Elks Pavilion.

The day begins with a morning motorcycle ride to the Chop Shop in Seabrook, N.H., with riders gathering at 9 a.m. The event also features roast beef and buffet from 2 to 6 p.m. with live bands, a caricature artist, raffle, silent auction and a pool tournament.
