For most, St. Patrick's Day is synonymous with shamrocks, corned beef and cabbage, and Irish fiddle tunes playing on the juke box. It's a great time to spend with friends and family reminiscing over a tall malted beverage at your local pub or bar. In Lowell, the Irish pubs and bars have come and gone, but their locations usually stay the same. Today, we enjoy places like The Gaelic Club, Finn's Pub, The Old Court and, of course, the historical Worthen. The photos above are from the '80s and show local patrons enjoying a pint or two at the Dubliner on Market Street in Lowell (now Majors Pub). On St. Patrick's Day, everyone is Irish, so get on your green and call a friend and go grab a pint -- after church, of course. What do you enjoy on St. Patrick's Day? Do you recognize anyone on these photos?

If you have a historical photo you would like The Sun to publish, please email it, with a description, to news@lowellsun.com.
