LOWELL -- Dracut police say a 41-year-old Lowell man allegedly used his cellphone to take nude photos of a woman in the next changing stall at a Dracut gym.

Mark Renaud, of 243 Mammoth Road, Unit 2, Lowell, was expected to post $1,000 cash on Wednesday after pleading not guilty in Lowell District Court to photographing an unsuspecting person in the nude.

Prosecutor Joseph Posner, who had originally sought $500 cash bail, doubled the amount when he learned that Renaud was placed on probation in January for a drug charge in Lynn District Court.

Posner alleges that on Feb. 7, the female victim had just finished tanning at Planet Fitness in Dracut when she went to a changing stall to dress.

There is an opening at the bottom of the stall where the woman told police noticed a cell phone on the floor, with the camera side up, slowly being pulled back.

It is unclear if there were any nude photos of the woman on the phone.

Renaud admits he was in the next changing area, but denies the allegations, said defense attorney Paul Donaghue, who is representing Renaud.

Donaghue said Renaud said he "dropped the phone on the floor and he was picking it up.''

Donaghue added, "My client fully intends to fight this case.''

Renaud's next court date is May 20.
