TEWKSBURY -- Tewksbury police are seeking a suspect in an armed robbery at Main Street Liquors Monday night.

The clerk working at the store that night reported that a man in a black ski mask entered the store at 391 Main St. around 9:20 p.m., said he had a gun, and ordered the employee to empty the cash register, according to a statement from the Tewksbury Police Department. The clerk also said the suspect was holding a large steak knife.

The suspect then fled the scene with an unknown amount of cash. Police set up a perimeter and searched the area, but were unable to locate him.

Police are seeking a heavy-set, light-skinned male in his 20s. He is about 6 feet tall, has hazel eyes and was wearing a red sweatshirt with white lettering, black sweat pants with white stripes down the side and blue gloves with white writing.
