DEVENS -- On Saturday, Aug. 16, the Fort Devens Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of its normal operating schedule and will feature a special display for one day only: a grouping of WWII 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division materials.
The small exhibit will showcase a diary, photograph albums and insignia including that of Col. James "Jumpin' Jim" Gavin. Also on display, will be a rare Vietnam leopard pattern camouflage uniform.
At 1 p.m., Shirley resident and World War II Veteran Joe Landry will show some videos relating to World War II memorials overseas and share some of his own experiences and photographs. This program is free and open to the public.
