This just in: Some of the guys in One Direction smoke marijuana.
That's right -- the crazy weed, the Maui wowie, grass, pot, Thai stick, the reefer, the chronic, the Mary Jane, the bud, the ganja, the wacky tobackie, the ...
Anyway, a couple members of the British boy band apparently had the genius idea of filming themselves smoking pot. Because the idea of celebrities filming themselves doing things they don't want the public to see hardly ever turns out bad.
British publication The Daily Mail posted footage of 21-year-old Zayn Malik and 22-year-old Louis Tomlinson smoking a joint and joking about it. The video was shot by Tomlinson, who also served as narrator while the boys drove through Lima, Peru, in the back of an SUV, on their way to an April 27 show at the Estadio Nacional.
"So here we are, leaving Peru. Joint lit. Happy days." Tomlinson said, while the vehicle pulls out of a parking garage. "What do you think Zayn, about that type of content?"
"Very controversial," Malik said.
Irony can be so ironic.
The two stars pass the joint around, seemingly amused by the idea that police are escorting them to the venue.
"One very very important factor of Zayn's warm up of course is Mary J herself. In fact, I will present it to him now for some fantastic singing," Tomlinson said.
Kids. It won't be funny when the reefer sends them right to the loony bin, will it?
Apparently, the video was stolen. A rep for One Direction told the Daily Mail, "This matter is in the hands of our lawyers."
MTV News reported that some fans of the group are so upset about the 5-minute video that they've ripped up or burned tickets for upcoming tour dates. Others, of course, have expressed their support on social media.
