BOXBORO -- Boxboro Police say an Acton woman was arrested after she drove her vehicle off the road and into a utility pole Saturday night, creating a power outage to the surrounding area for about six hours.

Police Sgt. Brett Pelley said multiple 911 calls came in around 9:15 p.m. Saturday night when a red sedan crashed into a pole on Littlefield Road. Police found Kerry Sullivan, 22, of Carlton Drive in Acton, at the scene of the crash. Pelley said Sullivan was cooperative with police and took a field sobriety test, which she failed.

Sullivan, who was uninjured in the crash, was subsequently charged with operating under the influence -- liquor, operating to endanger, failure to keep right and speeding.

Pelley said it appeared Sullivan drove off the right side of the road and struck the pole, causing heavy damage to her car. The Littleton Water and Light Department was on scene and a power outage affecting a small number of residents lasted about six hours.

Boxboro Police posted photos of the crash Saturday night to their Twitter page with the hashtag reading, "Don't drive drunk." The vehicle highlighted heavy damage to the front of the car.
