Rain, rain, go away, I have things to do today. It seems as though the weather lately has been very uncooperative. It's been either rainy, windy or cloudy every day, and it's hard to work a spring style into this kind of weather. For gloomy days, rain boots and umbrellas should be your best friends, especially during April! I promise there are ways to work these two items into a presentable, stylish look and still get through a stormy day (or month).

First, let me recommend Hunter boots. They're durable, your feet will never get wet no matter how deep the puddle and they're super easy to find. Walk into any shoe department and I promise there will be a section of Hunters. Department stores also have a variety of styles and colors of the boots online, too. They come in tall (pictured) and short styles, in countless colors. Go for neutral colored boots if you want them to match anything and everything, and get your favorite color if you want to have a bright, pretty color to make rainy days a little less painful. If you're a shopaholic with a new paycheck, go for a couple of colors -- you'll be needing them this spring! Hunter boots also offer socks that fold over the top for extra warmth and comfort, and, of course, they come in stylish colors and patterns.

I highly recommend the socks, they make the boots soft and comfortable, rather than the normal rubber sole. Hunters are a must.

Rain boots go with anything. Wear jeans, sweats, yoga pants, khakis, a skirt, etc., and you'll look stylish and stay dry. Substituting leather boots and springtime flats for rain boots can be fun, and chic. Match the colors to your favorite outfits and don't settle for "less cute" clothes because of the weather! Keep your top dry with a durable umbrella and a good rain jacket or trench. These items are key for a dry, stylish spring season. Granted it won't be raining every single day, but when it does, you don't want to be wet, miserable and ruin your clothes.

Just as you would with any other boots, make sure they match your look! I like to go with neutral black Hunter boots so I can wear basically anything. Try hot pink or yellow if you love the colors and have tops or pants that will complement them. It's all about staying dry and having your look come together like any other day, so take that into consideration. Rain boots last forever, too, so buying a pair is a great investment.

Stay dry, stay stylish and enjoy springtime. If you keep your top and bottom covered with rain boots, an umbrella and a good jacket, you'll be good to go! Save your good shoes for next month when May flowers bloom. For now, rain boots are your pal.

Now is the time to wear rain boots and embrace puddles.
