In conjunction with the American Red Cross, four National Junior Honor Society students at the Lakeview Junior High School in Dracut are helping to coordinate a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 5 in the junior high gymnasium. The students, Nicole Craig, Zachary Harris, Molly Jones and Charlie Ritchiem, chose the blood drive for their service project after one of the boys' Scout leaders had spoken to a Red Cross representative at another local drive several months ago. Their leader told them of the need for donors and host sites. The four friends are asking family and friends who are at least 18 years of age to help them by considering becoming a donor. Anyone interested in scheduling an appointment on Jan. 5 is asked to please call 1-800 RED CROSS (733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org.
