LOWELL — A Tewksbury man was arrested after he allegedly robbed Jerry's Food Store in South Lowell before fleeing the scene and locking himself inside a nearby home Wednesday night, authorities say.

Members of the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council SWAT division were used to capture 23-year-old Conor Cadigan following the armed robbery at the Lawrence Street location, police said.

No injuries were reported, according to Lowell police Capt. James Hodgdon.

Lowell police charged Cadigan with armed assault with intent to rob, unlawful possession of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license.

The 23-year-old also had a warrant for his arrest issued for kidnapping, according to police.
