Man charged with 'up skirt' photos

BOSTON (AP) -- Transit police have made what they think is the first arrest under the state's amended "upskirting" law. Police say Joshua Gonsalves, 23, of Norwood was arrested Tuesday after a woman told officers she was at the Forest Hills MBTA station when she saw a hand between her legs holding an iPad with the camera on and pointed up her skirt.

The man boarded a bus and left, but based on the woman's description, he was found.

Police say Gonsalves told them he heard on the news it wasn't illegal to "take pictures up a girl's skirt." He's scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.

Cape Cod doctor faces child porn charges

MASHPEE (AP) -- A pediatrician who lives on Cape Cod and who once practiced in New York has been arrested on federal child pornography charges.

Prosecutors say Daniel O'Hern, 64, of Mashpee, was arrested Tuesday on possession and distribution of child pornography charges.

He's being held pending a bail hearing Friday.

The federal public defender who represented O'Hern during his initial court appearance Tuesday declined comment. O'Hern is in the process of retaining an attorney.

Authorities say they found images and videos of children being sexually exploited on computer devices in O'Hern's home after being tipped by postal inspectors.

O'Hern previously practiced in New York's Hudson Valley region.

Prosecutors said O'Hern is 'semi-retired,' but records show he does not have a license to practice medicine in Massachusetts and his New York medical license has lapsed.
